Style Spotlight of the Month

The Cloche Hat

Chilly temps call for a fall accessories update! Calling the Pacific Northwest home is special privilege for those of us lucky enough to live in this region. Our favorite season, Fall, is upon us! The change in seasons call for shorter days and temperatures dropping. Are you prepared for upcoming holiday events? A classic cloche style hat is the perfect fashion forward silhouette to try out this season. Classic lines and soft angles make this style universally flattering. It’s no mystery why this shape has been gracing the most elegant of domes throughout history and continues to be reinvented by designers year after year.

Classic vintage 1920’s cloche style hat

Another classic, elegant look from Downton Abbey

The cloche hat works well on these face shapes: Heart shaped, round and narrow rectangle. Avoid this style if you have a square face shape.Traditionally worn very low over the head, our version is more forgiving of the low, tight look of the 20’s.  Another great way to update this timeless look is by adding your own embellishment and custom accents. Once a base fabric is selected for a silhouette like this one, floral details, textiles, and button trims can add elements that make the design perfect for you.

We love adding vintage trims to our designs to complete the look we are going for. New, modern elements can update this look as well, adding something fresh and unexpected to a timeless design such as a  favorite brooch or rhinestone pin added to your custom piece.

This classic black and white houndstooth check pattern is embellished with vintage textiles to give it extra detail and create a more feminine look.
Fall/Holiday cloche hat styles pictured above and below are available in Velveteen in Dusty Dark Blue, Aubergine Wine, Milk Chocolate Brown and Midnight Black.
