I so appreciate that we don’t walk in the world naked. Not to say we need to be ashamed of our bodies; not at all.The ability to love the way you feel in your body exudes confidence. And more and more people are stating the needed creed~love your body.

For some very obvious reasons ( I write this as I gaze out into the warmth of the sun on a nude beach) such as geography,
not being naked out is the world is a grand reason to love clothing.

Clothes shield us, adorn us, hide us and can cause an exhibition.I love garment design so I am happy to put on clothes.I advocate developing a personal style and learn about what fabrics you like next to your skin. A  youthful person commented while ‘friending’ my design page, “You are so full of personality!” Yes! It is in small doses we take in full personalities, but let the personality shine through and  develop and nurture that in ourselves when we get dressed. Take the attention off self-criticism and place it on self-observation.

My personal style emanates from my love of fabric and self-expression. At times,I may be overdressed for my city’s fashion sense. When I go out,I want  to feel a certain way.I choose a garment from my wardrobe because that piece allows me to achieves that. It’s a bit similar to that indescribable feeling of a positive first connection with someone that seduces you with his/her presence.

Fabric can seduce me that way, too. The ‘hand’; that special drape of a fabric, when you know the piece of clothing will feel just right. I let that dictate what I wear.

A famous 30’s actress is noted for saying “I always wears silk underwear because I walk confidently when I do.” Have you been seduced by a fabric….smooth leather, fluid silk, crisp satin, smooth cotton?
