Fixing what we love!
Fixing a Small hole in a sweater. The key here is to get to the hole before it gets larger than ¼ of and inch.
First match the thread. Sometimes new garments come with a little plastic bag
of thread and/or buttons. This is handy if you saved it; otherwise match the thread to the garment.
Yarn is most likely too bulky so use a two strand thread.(These are odd colors for demo purposes only.)
Second, working from the back side of the hole, thread a needle and make a small knot. Stitch around the hole with tiny over under
stitching to create a circle of thread around the hole.
Third When the needle meets the knot slip it threw the knot and cinch it.
Then go back and forth over the back of the hole a couple times. Knot the thread by forming a loop to run the needle through.
Lastly use a steam iron and pressing cloth to flatten out the stitched area.
